Cool Stuff | Vatican: Oldest known images of apostles Andrew and John found
As a Catholic myself this is quite interesting and should be met with disdain and derision as are all religious issues and information. I happen to consider it just one more subject to expand one’s mind and breadth of knowledge which is ironically the same old same old from the tribe who espouses ‘respect and care for others’ which we know is the biggest ‘crock’ to ‘come down the pike’ since the False Messiah’s immaculation.

The oldest known image of the apostles Andrew and John have been discovered in catacombs under the city of Rome, dating back to the 4th century A.D., archaeologists announced Tuesday.
The paintings were found in the same location where the oldest known painting of St. Paul was discovered last year, the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archeology said Tuesday.
They are part of a group of paintings around an image of Jesus as the Good Shepherd on the ceiling of what is thought to have been a Roman noblewoman’s tomb, experts said.
A painting of St. Peter makes up the fourth member of the group, but older images of him are thought to exist, Vatican experts said.

Isn’t that incredible! I was in some section of the catacombs when I was much younger. A priest led us through carrying a torch. Occasionally there would be a skeleton lying so close as you walked by. I tried to stay away from walls of the narrow passage. It felt like something would reach out and grab me. It was an awesome experience. I hope to go back before too long.
That is cool stuff, it’s too bad all that’s over in Europe and if the Muslims get their hands on this stuff can you imagine? Will we nuke them then because thats’ what they’re shooting for.
That’s a sobering thought Ray. I don’t think we’ll have to nuke them. The vatican has their own ways to handle the unfaithful.
Yea I know, that’s where I get in trouble with devoted Christians not saying “you’re this or that” but my family went to catholic schools, notre dame dad and mom Holy cross nearby which was in the movie Rudy. That’s when and where I was born, dad and mom’s families lived here and it was close to back home so that’s why “I’m born” in Chicago but they lived there at first til pops graduated. Divorced 15 years later.
Anyhow I’m a fan of the crusades basically, let’s put it that way. My mom didn’t like my attitudes in some things and that was one.
