Bulls and Hawks Involved in Michael Jordan Cover Up!

As the Blackhawks ready for their first appearance on the ice in the NHL Finals since 1992 has the city pretty psyched since this team has more similarities with the Chicago Cubs than the Chicago Bulls, in that both are, for all intents and purposes, “lovable losers”.
A new franchise direction that’s reversed the fortunes of the team, as the cover up now begins right at the opening of the Series this weekend, and that cover up involves Michael Jordan’s Statue outside the United Center, otherwise knows as the “house that Jordan Built”, which has been covered with “Hawks” regalia in the form of a team sweater, a team jersey seemingly everyone loves to wear or has in their closet around these parts at least, more for its colorful composition more than anything I believe , along with the obligatory ‘helmet’ of course.
However, some folks with nothing more to worry about are pissed off about it, but knowing Jordan is a regular at Hawks games throughout the season and post seasons past, as I wrote about last year in this piece at my other blog, where he was photographed enjoying the game from the Owner’s box, I’m sure he’s honored more than anything.
It’s not as if they’re covering up his face.
Frankly most people seem to not even like the statue, but you can judge for youself in this youtube taken of the ‘newly attired’ basketball God.
This is really nothing new since the City has been putting helmets on the Art Institute Lions since the Bears ’85 Super Bowl run, as you see here in this pic from this post.
Dad’s surely proud, although he was likely ‘miffed’ at the outset, as his son undid many of his Archaic views on televising games here in Chicago and other ‘penny pinching’ moves over the years, earning him the nickname used above, Dollar Bill. A man who ‘squeezed the quarter’s so hard the eagles would scream’.
