From the WIBDT FILES: Obama going to Gulf Coast on Friday, Over Memorial Weekend?
WASHINGTON A senior administration official tells The Associated Press that President Barack Obama will travel Friday to the Louisiana Gulf Coast to review firsthand the efforts to counter a disastrous oil spill.
The White House is expected to release more details about the trip later Tuesday.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the trip has not yet been announced.
Obama will travel from Washington to Chicago on Thursday for a long weekend with his family, as planned. From there, he will go to Louisiana on Friday and return to Chicago that evening.
The timing comes as the administration is under increasing scrutiny to defend its oversight of the ongoing oil leak in the Gulf Coast.

So he’s doing a quickie on his way to VACATION back here with all his ‘crackhead’ banker friends.
Sweet. That’ll go over well I’m sure once everyone realizes it.
Ya know, that’s the “What if Bush did this” acronym, that being showing up a month later for only the second time to check this out this unmitigated catastrophe of biblical proportions personally?
Fact is, Obama’s only doing a measly ‘fly by’ on his way to vacation when he should be working and blowing off Arlington Cemetery on Memorial Day, can you believe that? There’s no firm confirmation he’s coming back Monday from Chicago and if he is why waste a quarter million to go home for two lousy days?
I will be working here like every day. Why not him? Bush never missed a one so we’ll see what happens with that when they announce the full itinerary later Tuesday according to the report up top.
I mean, there’s only 2 wars and a unreal travesty killing off an ocean right this very minute..Did I miss something, everything is back to “hunkey-dorey”?
I mean, the Gulf coast is only destroyed today because Liberals forced the drilling so deep down that we don’t even possess the equipment to fix the leak ourselves. BP “has to fix it” because no one else on earth can. Does that scare you or what?
It doesn’t even exist we find out today, which is frightening as hell that we have people doing this stuff with no contingency plans for such a dangerous endeavor as this in the deep sea man cannot even inhabit for seconds.
Absolutely unbelievable is not even close to describing this catastrophe.
We don’t have one yet because we haven’t even seen the ‘tip of the spear’ on this tragedy.. Another quick thing, Obama had better do a flyover because if he shows his face down there the fisherman are gonna eat him alive.

This is such a travesty Ray… Beyond belief. We haven’t seen anything yet, if this gusher is not stopped. The poisons alone can kill thousands of people over and above the poor creatures in the ocean.
This already the worst catastrophe ever although liberals will say Katrina is or Hiroshima and Nagasaki once the 20 trillion dollar damage bill appears when the world has oil in their food and the ocean dies, this could set off a chain of events that could end our ecosystem
We better hope that thing dries up and we now know the oil theory they’re selling is bull too.
